Scientific Activities

General and applied psychology departments of NUCPU are engaged in scientific research mainly devoted to the field of psychology of acting in extreme situations. Members of the departments and scientific assistants lead the psychological researches in several directions:

  • influence of extreme situations on the psychological condition of the risky professions employees;
  • personal predictors of the professional burnout for SESU workers;
  • problem of psychological health of SESU workers;
  • features of protective behavior of the rescuers in the stressing work conditions;
  • conceptional principles of consulting extreme rescuers etc.

Since year 2007 general and applied psychology departments prepare and publish periodical scientific professional journal “Issues of general and applied psychology”, which is included in the list of SCC professional publications in psychological field.

Every three years general and applied psychology departments in cooperation with the scientists of extreme and crisis psychology laboratory of NUCPU organize an international scientific and practical conference “Modern state of the extreme and crisis psychology”. Theses from the participants' reports are published in the corresponding scientific journals.
